V-NISSG Proof of Competence

Since 2024, proof of competence has been mandatory in Switzerland for certain treatments using non-ionising radiation or sound (e.g. laser, IPL). EY Esthetic in Lucerne provides information and guidance on the requirements and the path to certification.

Important: The V-NISSG proof of competence courses listed here are conducted by Lisandra Solange Wigert LW Medical Beauty Fachschulen (an examination centre listed by the FDHA). Registration takes place directly with LW Medical Beauty Fachschulen.

Fundamentals

What is the V-NISSG?

As of 1 June 2024, certain treatments using non-ionising radiation or sound in Switzerland may only be performed by individuals who have obtained the relevant proof of competence under the V-NISSG. Depending on the treatment, this includes applications such as laser, IPL, and other regulated technologies. The legal basis is the Ordinance on the Federal Act on Protection against Hazards from Non-Ionising Radiation and Sound (V-NISSG).

On this page, EY Esthetic in Lucerne provides information on the structure of the proof of competence, the requirements, the training pathways, and the key considerations when choosing an examination centre. This gives you a clear overview so you can plan your next step with confidence.
